The art of craftsmanship
Around 90% of all shoes produced are industrially glued. Welted shoes, on the other hand, require up to 250 steps and a great deal of craftsmanship.
The upper is not rigidly glued to the base of the shoe, but flexibly joined by seams.
The 'welt', a leather strap that wraps around the shoe, is used to stitch together the upper and insole. This welt is then joined to the outsole by another strong seam.
Welted shoes have the following advantages:
-
Significantly longer service life
-
Possibility of repair
-
Customised production
-
High-quality materials
-
Traditional, precise craftsmanship
-
Comfortable foot condition
-
Elegant, stylish look that enhances your character
SELECTED STAGES OF FOOTWEAR PRODUCTION
Modelling and designing
Our shoes are designed and developed by hand with the utmost precision. We rely on the decades of experience of our specialists and leave no detail to chance.
Cutting
Our leathers are selected by us and checked for quality in advance. As leather is a natural product, cutting must be carried out with great care by experienced craftsman.
Sewing
The sewing facility is a high-volume department where the individual leather components of the upper are assembled and sewn in a series of discrete steps. This includes both preparatory work and the actual sewing process.
Lasting and bottom assembly
This is the heart of a welted shoe factory. This is where the shoe takes its final shape and where the quality of the previous work is revealed. Following the sewing process, the upper is attached to the insole and welt. It is at this stage that the product acquires its unmistakable quality, which distinguishes it from other footwear on the market.
Finish
Once the shoe has been given its final touch and it’s polished, a final quality check is carried out to determine whether it will be made available for sale.
